Getting your equipment SPA ASSURED provides certification for a full year plus a access to a wealth of online resources to help your team get on with the day to without the headaches caused by forgotten or neglected service schedules. The basic package provides cover for the average site so you can choose to bolt on additional visits, equipment and ICE KITS as required.

This Saturday sees the showdown between Liverpool’s reds and blues and it certainly promises to be an interesting game. We have season tickets which are usually used for personal and corporate entertaining but which we thought may just score a winning goal for charity. As some of you already know, I am heavily involved with the British Red Cross so finding a way to raise funds and support their services is a great way to provide essential funding.

There is a pair of tickets up for grabs so all you have to do is place your bid. The tickets will go to the highest bidder and all funds raised will be given directly to the British Red Crossfor allocation to both the Haiti Disaster Relief Fund and other general services.

The auction closes at midday on Thursday 4th February and the winner will be notified immediately. (Please note that bids can only be accepted from those of you we know or who come highly recomended!).

Inside was the long awaited fresh off the press  new products information catalogue offering a sneak preview of  the latest ‘fruits of our labour’.

Inspect hinges , handles and door seals and repair or replace as nececessary. Loose hinges and damaged seals allow heat or moisture to escape increasing the time needed for the cabin to reach and indeed to maintain its optimum operating environment. Oil and tighten screw regularly and check seals for any signs of wear and tear.

Sauna sensors and bulbs can be subject to less than favourable water ingress from clients who are a little too vigorous with the raponsing bucket. Check weekly and keep stocks on site to avoid unnecessary cabin closures or downtime. It’s also good practice to check over the bench supports and structures, maintaining where required.  

Steam Generating equipment is easily checked, cleaned and maintained. In fact, our generators have removable key parts which require regular replacement for efficient output. How regular will depend on level of use. A cabin which runs continually for 18 hours a day, 7 days a week will require mini services quarterly while a cabin situated in private residence will need only an annual service.  

Developing a suitable routine is key. Operating an efficient maintenance schedule takes very little time yet offers long term cabin efficiency. Don’t forget to talk to our team, we are only a click or call away and can offer advice, answer those maintenance questions or send over manuals as needed.

The primary reason for this directive is sauna safety. Historically, fire hazards have been regularly observed with textile items such as towels left on the sauna stones. Basic safety checks have not always been observed. 

Practically speaking, the new directive causes limitations on function and design. Commercial clients generally require discreet and centrally controlled systems whilst the private client looks to the aesthetic values of any control system.

Meeting the conditions for full compliance means that where the control unit cannot be placed within 2 metres of the door, the remote system has to provide sufficient security to avoid safety hazards associated with the heating appliance, as well as meeting current Building Regulations.
