This chilly time of year sees an increase in the numbers of frequent visitors, particularly to the sauna and steamroom so there are plenty of considerations to observe in maintaining the health of your equipment.  Here are our quick top tips:

• Handles and hinges get particularly hard hit with the increase in traffic so check weekly and tighten or adjust as required to prevent strain or breakage.
• Check door seals are in good order with no cracking, tears or hardening.  If they no longer seal the door correctly, heat or steam will escape leading to operational inefficiencies.
• Give your sauna heating appliance a regular once over to check for debris or build-up.  The sauna stones should be given a check up too, top up or replace as necessary.
• An interim service for the steam generator will keep steam output efficiently high. Do it yourself or contact our team for extra support.
• If your sauna benches are looking a little worse for wear, a light sanding will remove staining and    dark patches.
• Care for your clients as well as your equipment by checking those essence levels. High quality natural essences not only enhance the bathing experience but can help to ward off those winter germs too.

The ICE KIT has also proven to be a valuable asset to an increasing number of our sites, reducing the instances of breakdown, call outs and emergency parts dispatch.  These handy kits have been carefully tailored to meet the needs of each individual piece of equipment thereby avoiding excessive parts storage whilst maintaining adequate levels for continued operations.  Impressive indeed.

Inspect hinges , handles and door seals and repair or replace as nececessary. Loose hinges and damaged seals allow heat or moisture to escape increasing the time needed for the cabin to reach and indeed to maintain its optimum operating environment. Oil and tighten screw regularly and check seals for any signs of wear and tear.

Sauna sensors and bulbs can be subject to less than favourable water ingress from clients who are a little too vigorous with the raponsing bucket. Check weekly and keep stocks on site to avoid unnecessary cabin closures or downtime. It’s also good practice to check over the bench supports and structures, maintaining where required.  

Steam Generating equipment is easily checked, cleaned and maintained. In fact, our generators have removable key parts which require regular replacement for efficient output. How regular will depend on level of use. A cabin which runs continually for 18 hours a day, 7 days a week will require mini services quarterly while a cabin situated in private residence will need only an annual service.
